According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal have identified Trent Alexander-Arnold as a target and are prepared to pay somewhere between €70m and €80m to get him out of Madrid. That's a serious number for a full-back, even one with Alexander-Arnold's résumé, and it lands at an interesting moment for both parties.

Mikel Arteta's side sit second in the Premier League, level on 12 points from five games with four wins and a single defeat, and their goal difference of +4 suggests a team that's functional rather than rampant. None of that tells us whether Real Madrid are willing to sell, which is the bit that matters most here.

The report is silent on that question, and CaughtOffside's framing of Alexander-Arnold's recent form in Spain as mixed is doing a lot of the work in explaining why this rumour exists at all. His move to the Bernabéu was framed as a marquee arrival in its own right. Arsenal wanting him and Arsenal getting him are, right now, two very different sentences, and nothing here amounts to more than an early interest report.

Brobbey's hat-trick problem

Brian Brobbey scored a hat-trick against Manchester City, and CaughtOffside reports that performance has put Sunderland's striker on the radar of several top clubs, Tottenham among them, with suggestions a 2027 exit could be on the cards.

That's a striker getting into good positions and finishing them, not just riding a lucky afternoon.

Brobbey came through at Ajax, moved to RB Leipzig, then returned to Ajax before his switch to Sunderland, so this is a player who's already been tested outside the Eredivisie once before.

What's not there yet is anything concrete from Tottenham. CaughtOffside's report leans on "linked" and "set for exit" language rather than a bid, a fee or a timeline beyond a vague 2027 window, and Sunderland have said nothing publicly about letting their best forward walk. A hat-trick against a club the size of Manchester City will always generate noise. Whether it generates an actual transfer is a different question entirely.
